My reasons are threefold. Please note that since AeriaGames is the confirmed English publisher that all these problems will be magnified by anyone looking for BLESS forums on google, since we are quite literally the only English forums for now.
1 - If a bot starts noticing and abusing the Guest Posting system (by posting hacks, real-world gold sales, Korean Casino ads, whatever), then there is no account to ban. Sure the threads can be rejected from being posted and deleted, but we can't ultimately stop the problem if they start doing that from what I can find in the Moderator Tools. We also wouldn't be able to prevent them at all if they start replying to threads, we'd only be able to after-the-fact delete them.
2 - If they are truly interested in Bless, and want to do things involving it, then chances are they will need to make more than just one post. I see no reason that forcing them to sign up for a membership would detriment their desire for Bless knowledge. Ontop of that, them having an actual membership would let us see their post history, reputation, etc, whereas there is nothing like that for Guest Posters.
3 - Name Stealing. Guests can pick any name they wish when posting as a guest. Let's just say that the guest poster Zastier continues posting as Zastier, and gets decently known here as a good person. Now let's say someone that doesn't like Zastier wants revenge on him for some reason (this is the internet, that occurs frequently). That someone can just post as guest Zastier as well, and extremely easily soil his good name. This is extremely unfair to a good guest poster, and something that is completely prevented by forcing accounts. The revenge minded person can also just MAKE an account "Zastier", and permanently soil his name further.
Please let me know what you think of this, as my opinion is strongly to disable guest posting entirely, enforcing people to sign up before they can post. I'm wanting other actual forum member's opinions on this.
