From this GStar 2012 screencap, we can see the following:

11 Gear Slots
18 Stats + HP/Mana

Seems like it could be plenty complex using 18 stats. I wonder how many of them will be important.

Anyone think it's odd there's only one ring slot and not two? Usually "accessories" have two rings, maybe two bracelets, and one necklace. I also don't see any cape, trinket, or sigil/crest/etc. slot. I really like the ideas of trinkets because it lets you switch up little extras your class can do and provides the player a bit more of a way to stand out.

The 5th slot on the right might be for shoes. Its the only thing i could come up with that's usual for gear.

Definitely the usual slot we see, but that circle icon really throws me.

Actually, now that I look closely at it, it's definitely a boot.

1. The background image on the character panel has footwear that's only really covering the arch of the foot and doesn't look like a regular "boot". The same can be seen in the armor icon, so definitely a foot armor slot.

2. The "circle" that was throwing me appears on the other armor slots; some more obvious than others depending on the design of the gear on the icon itself.

The "circle" slot could be for off hand items since hes holding a two handed axe nothing would appear there.

Aaah. Well, there's a "circle" on top of every icon in that panel which is what I was confused about originally. The bottom right-hand slot I'm pretty sure is off-hand/shield slot like you mentioned.
