    • This is really troubling -- many people acted in reliance upon the action camera from the "new combat improved" gameplay videos when purchasing the game. I really do hope that this will be resolved; as this is a dealbreaker for me; and I used up all my steam 2 hour refund period while sitting in queues.

        • Hi folks, looking for some advice. After exhaustive deliberation, I've narrowed down my class choices to Mage and Guardian. I generally enjoy casting playstyles (and per the twitch videos, the animations look great on the mage); however, also mobile, in your face playstyles (which I've heard Guardian is exceptionally mobile). I generally prefer DPS; however, have tanked on occasion; but I will primarily playing this game with a PvP focus in mind. With that, while I also enjoy large scale pvp; I am very much concerned about open world/solo pvp. Due to my time zone, I generally play late nights, and consequently, I suspect that most of the pvp I will be doing will be fairly small scale or open world in nature.

For those of you who have experience or have researched the game, what are your thoughts on Guardian and Mage for small scale PvP (with particular emphasis on being able to contest/defend your spot). I've heard that Guardians are nigh invulnerable against mages in the open world; and I'm concerned that playing a mage class will substantially limit the classes at which I'm able to effectively defend against. [For reference, I play a Wizard and Berserker in BDO; and while I enjoy Wizard gameplay in large scale; I hate the fact that it's the bottom of barrel in solo PvP -- i.e., uphill battle in being able to contest an defend a grind spot].

Alternatively, I'm concerned at the Guardian's lack of DPS and being able to have a meaningful impact in large scale PvP.

In conclusion, I want to ensure that the class I commit to is generally able to hold its own in open world PvP. Any comments would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

            • Hi folks,

Apparently I missed the past five years of planning for this game, and just now am learning of it. I'm intrigued, and most likely will purchase a founder's pack; however, I have a few questions.

              1. How are the classes' respective self healing?

I know that Paladin, of course, has healing; but what about ranger, mage, berserker, etc.? Are these classes completely reliant upon a healer to sustain their health; or do they also have some self healing.

              2. How is downtime while grinding/between fights?

This is somewhat of an ancillary question to the first, but is the downtime significant between fights, are are you largely able to keep fighting with minimal downtime? (reference: long-time MMO player that's played most AA titles, with significant time spent in Everquest, WoW, ESO, and BDO, among others.

              3. Class DPS and Sustainability

I know that of the classes available, mage is primarily ranged aoe; zerker melee aoe; ranger ranged single target and guardian is a tank, but how is a paladin's DPS? Is it mediocre, or respectable? In PvP, is the paladin primarily a healer, or able to serve both as an offensive threat as well as support for group? [Disclaimer: I generally enjoy hybrid classes, playing a shaman in EQ, shaman in WoW, etc. but also extensively played a hunter in WoW]. With respect to ranger/berserker/mage, are these classes self reliable to an extent in PvE? (I understand of course that dungeons are generally group affairs). What about PvP? Are there any classes that are better suited to small scale pvp v. large scale? Of the classes, is there generally one (or a few) that is more self sufficient than the others?

              4. Armor Appearance and Design.

I've heard that your faction/race determines the appearance of your armor. Is there a way to see what these look like before hand?

Thanks -- I appreciate any comments and suggestions! I have a terrible habit of being an altoholic, and consequently, want to firm down my class and stick to it this time around.
