So the patch notes a few days mentioned a 7 chain combo not working correctly. I finally found out how to get one on mage. Its in the 4th stance (air) and its the Y or 3rd line:
I then swapped to mixed stance and use the 2yy to get to lightning AoE:
I then tested the dmg without the 7 chain combo and it was about 50% less. So its possible that 7 chain might be worth it for certain spike situations. So the damage I tested was about ~800 and with the 7th cast was ~1200.
